West Hendon stretches along the western shore of the Welsh Harp reservoir, a mixed ward of interwar semis, 1960s flats and the new towers of the West Hendon regeneration scheme. The large water body and surrounding reservoir walks dominate the open space: over 80 hectares of green land across the ward, with the West Hendon Playing Fields and the Brent Reservoir itself on the doorstep, and 140 open food venues sit along the Edgware Road corridor. Public-transport access is decent, with Hendon Thameslink and Colindale Northern line within reach. The drawbacks stack up: air quality is weak, pressed by the A5 and the junction with the A406; the three listed buildings are modest, with no Grade II* or Grade I; and the new high-rise cluster beside the reservoir has drawn criticism over density and affordability.
