Holland covers the northern half of Holland Park and the streets around it, one of the heritage-densest wards in London. The whole ward sits inside a conservation area and has 120 listed buildings. Anchors include the Grade I Holland House — a Jacobean country house built in 1605 by Sir Walter Cope, largely destroyed by incendiary bombing in September 1940 and now preserved as a ruin — the Grade I Debenham House, and the Grade I Tower House. Holland Park itself at just over twenty hectares is the ward's single largest open space. Transport is good via Holland Park tube on the Central line and twenty-one outstanding schools lie within reach. The drawbacks: safety readings sit below the London average, driven by Kensington High Street and Notting Hill Gate footfall; air quality is poor thanks to Kensington High Street and Holland Park Avenue; and the market score is the lowest in the batch, a function of prices well above any realistic renter threshold.
