Roxbourne sits in the south of the London Borough of Harrow, a residential ward that grew out of the old hamlet of Roxeth and the southern agricultural fields around Harrow. Its suburban character was set in the first half of the 20th century, after South Harrow station opened in 1903 on what is now the Piccadilly line and the Roxbourne ward itself was formed in 1948 from Pinner South and Roxeth. There is one listed building — the Grade II Church of St Andrew and adjoining church hall — and the entire ward sits inside a conservation area. Newton Park West gives the largest patch at 3.1 hectares, with total green cover a modest 5.8 hectares; residents walk to Roxbourne Park just beyond the boundary for the 26 hectares of open space including the Rough Nature Reserve and the miniature railway.
