Headstone sits north-west of Harrow town centre, a settled interwar suburban ward anchored by one of Middlesex's oldest surviving buildings. The whole ward is inside a conservation area, and seven listed buildings include the Grade I Headstone Manor — a moated manor house built in 1310 and the earliest surviving timber-framed building in Middlesex — plus the Grade II* Great Barn and the Grade II Church of St George. Headstone Manor Recreation Ground gives seventeen hectares of the ward's forty-five hectare green footprint. Schools are solid with twenty-four outstanding nearby, pollution is low, and safety is respectable.
