Frognal occupies the high western slope of Hampstead, one of the most heritage-dense residential wards in London. Over ninety per cent of the ward sits inside a conservation area, and there are 134 listed buildings. Anchors include the Grade I Church of St John and the Grade I Institute of St Marcellina, alongside the Grade II* Sun House on Frognal Way, Maxwell Fry's 1935–36 modernist pioneer. Seven outstanding schools lie within reach, the Finchley Road and Hampstead tube links give good public transport, and Camden Arts Centre sits on the border. The ward feels self-consciously quiet, with its identity resting on architecture rather than commercial bustle — a character the streets have kept for over a century.
