Brentford East sits on the Thames and Grand Union Canal in the north of Hounslow, a ward where the river, the canal and the Kew Gardens opposite bank define the character. The twelve listed buildings include three Grade I entries at the former Kew Bridge Pumping Station — the Main Building, the Great Engine House and the Metropolitan Water Board tower, now the London Museum of Water & Steam and home to the largest collection of Cornish engines in the world.
