Merton, London
PocketsMitcham South (Ravensbury Park · Morden Hall Park · Watermeads Nature Reserve)Morden CentralSt Helier North
Ravensbury sits in south Merton between Morden and Mitcham, a ward anchored on the Wandle as it runs through Morden Hall Park and Ravensbury Park. Four listed buildings — including the Grade II Wandle House, White Cottage, and the Grade II Mill Cottages — mark the nineteenth-century mill workers' fabric along the river. Morden Hall Park, managed by the National Trust, is just inside the ward at 11 hectares, and total green runs to 34 hectares with the Wandle corridor included. Conservation area cover reaches 24%, and housing affordability is among the stronger in south-west London. Nine outstanding-rated schools fall within the catchment. The downsides: public-transport access is moderate, with Morden Tube station the nearest but most of the ward a good walk away; the high street amenities are thin at 13 food and 21 non-food venues; cultural life is minimal beyond Morden Hall Park; and air quality along the A24 and A217 is worse than the London median.
