Myatt's Fields covers the eastern half of Kennington and Camberwell border, a dense Victorian ward with a strong heritage core. Fifty-one listed buildings — unusually many for inner south London — include the Grade I Church of St John the Divine, Kennington, designed by George Edmund Street and built between 1871 and 1874, with at 61 metres the tallest spire in south London. Grade II anchors include the park bandstand and Calais Gate. Myatt's Fields park gives five hectares of genuine Victorian square space and twenty-four outstanding schools lie within reach. Public transport is good via Oval and Loughborough Junction, and food and drink along Camberwell New Road is steady rather than destination-led.
