The character is mixed — post-war terraces, Piccadilly line parade architecture, and a military heritage core only now coming to an end after 229 years of Army use. Twelve listed buildings include the Grade II 44–50 Bath Road, the Grade II former NAAFI (Building 9) at Hounslow Barracks and the Grade II former chapel to the Cavalry Barracks, the barracks themselves established in 1793 as part of the first national programme of barracks construction.
